Pausing in New Bern, NC
The best time to sail south is at the end of a wonderful Long Island summer. SoundWave left the Port Washington, NY mooring season in September 2020 and headed to NC. During our month long trip south we surprised ourselves by buying not one, but two, condos overlooking the picturesque water of Fairfield Harbour, New Bern, NC. COVID online shopping is to blame :). We are now short term rental hosts and are happy to be welcoming guests to this super cool area. We are loving New Bern and Fairfield Harbour. There is just so much to do here. For a sailor, looking out of your living room at your boat in the harbor below feels like a dream. Its a golden location to pause!

From Tampa, FL to Oriental, NC
11/2018 - 3/2019
We bought SoundWave in Tampa and it took us all winter to get her back to Oriental. Thanks to great friends (and our kids) who came along for the voyages.
Our Second Leg
Oriental, NC to Newport, RI
6/2019 - 9/2019
Our official move onto SoundWave and retirement. Everything was so new to us . . . very similar to a Honeymoon :)
Our Third Leg
Newport, RI to West Palm Beach, FL
9/2019 - 4/2020
We had planned to cross to the Bahamas after Christmas, but got derailed to San Antonio, Texas for Breast Cancer surgery and recovery.
All is good now. Hallelujah!

West Palm Beach, FL to Port Washington, NY
4/2020 - 6/2020
Where can we hole up safely for this crazy Covid 2020 summer and be out of the Florida hurricane season? The beautiful, an easily accessible town of Port Washington, NY. We stayed to ourselves the whole summer.
Our Fifth Leg
Port Washington, NY to New Bern, NC
8/2020 - 10/2020
This is our current location for much of 2021. We bought 2 condos in Fairfield Harbour, New Bern and have SoundWave in a slip just below our balconies. Sweet!
